Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Medication Assistance: Support the nursing staff by reminding patients of medication schedules and observing for any adverse reactions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care logs in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care.
- Environment Safety: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, safe, and organized at all times.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient calls and emergency situations following established safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Current Texas CNA License: Must hold a valid and active Certified Nursing Assistant license issued by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Weekend Availability: Must be available to work Friday through Sunday shifts on a consistent basis.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
