Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist residents/patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates as directed by the nursing staff.
- Assist with Mobility: Help patients move safely to and from beds, wheelchairs, or walkers, utilizing proper body mechanics.
- Document Care: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities, behaviors, and changes in condition in electronic medical records.
- Emotional Support: Build rapport with patients and families, providing emotional support and a friendly presence during their stay.
- Meal Assistance: Serve meals and assist patients with eating to ensure nutritional needs are met.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read and interpret medical documentation.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform physical tasks associated with patient care.
- Experience: Prior experience in a long-term care, assisted living, or hospital setting is preferred but we welcome enthusiastic new graduates.
