Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including four-handed dentistry, instrument transfer, and suction management
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize equipment following OSHA and CDC guidelines
- Take and develop digital dental radiographs with proper radiation safety protocols
- Manage patient flow, including scheduling, recall systems, and patient education
- Maintain accurate digital patient records and inventory management systems
- Assist in dental lab procedures including pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or New Jersey Dental Assistant license required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography (X-rays) and practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification with current AHA or Red Cross certification
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and dental materials
- Excellent communication skills with ability to make patients comfortable
- High school diploma or equivalent with dental assisting certification
