Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for treatments and procedures, including taking medical histories and vital signs
- Assist dentists during procedures, including instrument handling and suction control
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with proper infection control
- Manage infection control protocols and sterilize equipment per OSHA standards
- Perform administrative tasks including appointment scheduling, record management, and insurance verification
- Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
- Maintain clean, organized treatment rooms and restocking supplies
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification from accredited program (e.g., DANB, RDA)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
- CPR/BLS certification (current)
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid California X-ray license
