Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including implants, crowns, and orthodontic treatments
- Manage patient intake, digital charting, and sterilization protocols
- Take accurate dental X-rays and perform preliminary examinations
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure optimal inventory management
- Delicate post-operative care instructions and patient education
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and OSHA safety standards
- Coordinate with insurance specialists on treatment plans and billing
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or New York State RDA license required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in general/cosmetic dentistry
- Proficiency in digital imaging (X-rays, intraoral cameras)
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to manage multiple procedures simultaneously
- CPR certification and BLS training
- Experience with Eaglesoft or Dentrix practice management software
