Responsibilities
- Chairside Assisting: Provide comprehensive chairside assistance during examinations, treatments, and procedures using 4-handed dentistry techniques.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to sterilization and disinfection protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Radiography: Perform dental radiography (X-rays) and process images accurately for diagnostic purposes.
- Patient Care: Assist with patient intake, update medical histories, and explain post-operative instructions clearly.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and order dental supplies, instruments, and materials to maintain optimal clinic operations.
- Lab Work: Prepare provisional restorations and assist with impressions and temporaries as needed.
- Administrative Support: Schedule appointments, manage electronic health records (EHR), and handle front desk duties when required.
Qualifications
- Education: Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or an Associate degree in Dental Assisting.
- Licensure: Current California Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license or DANB certification is highly preferred.
- Certifications: Current BLS (CPR) certification and infection control training.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and excellent knowledge of dental anatomy and materials.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to work well under pressure, and a warm, professional demeanor.
