Responsibilities
- Chair-Side Assistance: Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Infection Control: Maintain strict sterilization protocols and cross-infection control procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Radiography: Perform and process dental radiographs (X-rays) following ALARA principles and safety guidelines.
- Patient Management: Greet patients, educate them on oral hygiene, and prepare them for treatment to ensure a comfortable experience.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock dental supply rooms and instrument trays efficiently.
- Record Keeping: Accurately update patient charts and treatment records in our digital practice management system.
- Emergency Response: Assist in managing dental emergencies and providing chair-side support as needed.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current Dental Assistant (DA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license in New Mexico is required.
- Certification: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly, patient demeanor.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) is a plus.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Dental Assisting diploma or equivalent training preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to follow instructions and maintain precise clinical standards.
