Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist and hygienist during examinations and procedures with precision and professionalism.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials according to infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) as directed by the dentist.
- Manage patient records and update electronic health records (EHR) accurately.
- Provide patient education regarding oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Perform chair-side assisting duties including handing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and greeting patients to ensure a welcoming atmosphere.
Qualifications
- Current Oregon Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license or equivalent certification.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be current).
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact warmly with patients of all ages.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Experience with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a plus.
- High school diploma or GED required.
