Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative treatments and oral surgeries
- Prepare and maintain sterile instruments and equipment in compliance with OSHA standards
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and care
- Manage patient flow, including scheduling appointments and updating electronic health records
- Provide chairside assistance during exams and treatments, ensuring patient comfort
- Perform infection control protocols and sterilize dental instruments
- Deliver post-procedure instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a dental practice
- Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures
- Proficiency in dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Valid CPR certification and ability to maintain HIPAA compliance
- High school diploma or equivalent; dental assisting degree preferred
