Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following OSHA protocols
- Assist dentists during procedures including chairside support and four-handed dentistry
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with proper radiation safety measures
- Manage patient scheduling, digital charting, and insurance documentation
- Provide post-operative care instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene
- Inventory management and ordering of dental supplies and materials
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- Accredited Dental Assistant program graduate or equivalent certification (CDA, RDA preferred)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a general or specialty dental practice
- Current CPR/BLS certification and state radiology permit
- Proficiency in Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar dental software
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions
