Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications for dispensing according to strict safety protocols.
- Verify prescription orders for accuracy, checking for drug interactions and dosage appropriateness.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking pharmaceutical supplies.
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, including sterile compounding when required.
- Process patient insurance claims and handle financial transactions at the pharmacy counter.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and medication profiles.
- Provide exceptional customer service and answer questions regarding medications and pharmacy services.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, dosage forms, and medications.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and computer systems.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
