Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures, including patient preparation and examination support
- Accurately document patient histories, vital signs, and clinical notes in EHR systems
- Perform basic laboratory tests, phlebotomy, and specimen processing
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain sterile, organized clinical environments
- Administer medications under provider supervision and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or willing to complete within 3 months
- BLS/CPR certification preferred (training provided if needed)
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in fast-paced settings
- Valid Washington, DC driver's license and reliable transportation
