Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify demographic and insurance information, and ensure accurate check-in processes.
- Vital Signs: Measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight, ensuring data accuracy.
- Clinical Assistance: Assist providers with examinations, prepare treatment rooms, and perform basic clinical duties such as phlebotomy and EKGs.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient charts, schedule appointments, and handle incoming calls with professionalism and efficiency.
- Lab Duties: Collect and prepare lab specimens for testing, adhering to strict laboratory protocols and safety standards.
- Compliance: Maintain a sterile environment and ensure all patient interactions comply with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level.
- Experience: Previous healthcare experience is preferred, but we highly value recent graduates with a passion for medicine.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain procedures clearly to patients.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn Electronic Health Record (EHR) software.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- License: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required prior to start.
