Responsibilities
- Perform patient vitals, such as blood pressure, temperature, and weight monitoring.
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting with history taking and examinations.
- Assist providers with minor procedures and perform basic phlebotomy when certified.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including insurance verification.
- Maintain and sterilize medical instruments and equipment.
- Update and secure patient medical records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries professionally.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Basic computer proficiency and typing skills.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
