Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and assist providers during clinical procedures
- Manage patient flow, schedule appointments, and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR)
- Perform basic laboratory tests, including phlebotomy and EKG procedures
- Administer medications under provider supervision and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Assist with sterile processing, inventory management, and equipment maintenance
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care measures
- Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize patient experience and workflow efficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; CMA or RMA certification preferred
- Completion of accredited medical assistant program or equivalent clinical training
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) and Microsoft Office
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Current BLS/CPR certification and negative TB test required
- Arizona state medical assistant registration (if applicable)
