Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment prior to procedures.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) and digital images accurately.
- Manage patient records, update charts, and prepare treatment plans.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and sterilization standards.
- Coordinate with front desk staff to ensure smooth patient flow and scheduling.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is required.
- Current license to practice dental assisting in the State of Texas.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient service.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks as required.
- Proficiency in using dental software and electronic health records (EHR).
