Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Take and process dental X-rays (radiographs) and intraoral photographs as directed.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient procedures.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols and sterilize instruments and equipment.
- Manage patient records, including updating electronic health records (EHR) accurately.
- Coordinate with the front desk to schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license in the state of Arizona.
- Previous experience as a dental assistant (1-2 years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and sterilization procedures.
- Proficient in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, OpenDental).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
