Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and report any changes in health status to the supervising nurse.
- Companionship: Engage in conversation and activities to promote emotional well-being and reduce feelings of isolation.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and light cleaning to ensure a safe living environment.
- Transportation: Drive clients to and from medical appointments, grocery shopping, or social events.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse as required.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided and client observations in the electronic health record system.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid Texas Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- Driving: Valid Texas Driver's License and a clean driving record with reliable personal transportation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on empathy and active listening.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods; capable of assisting clients with mobility needs.
