Responsibilities
- Submit and follow up on insurance claims for accurate reimbursement
- Review and code medical diagnoses/procedures using ICD-10 and CPT systems
- Resolve billing discrepancies through insurance company and patient communication
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid regulations
- Analyze aging reports and implement collection strategies
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure documentation accuracy
- Utilize Epic EHR system for billing operations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a clinical setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential preferred
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency with medical billing software (Epic, Medisoft, or similar)
- Strong understanding of insurance claim processes and denials
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
