Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Verify insurance coverage and pre-authorizations for procedures
- Manage denial resolution with payers and adjust claims as needed
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare billing regulations
- Analyze account aging and follow up on unpaid claims
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve billing discrepancies
- Utilize Epic EHR and Athenahealth systems for documentation
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency in medical billing software (Epic, Athenahealth preferred)
- Strong understanding of Medicare/Medicaid and commercial insurance
