Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS standards
- Submit electronic claims to insurance payers and track claim status
- Resolve claim denials and appeals through meticulous documentation
- Conduct patient billing inquiries with exceptional communication skills
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing compliance protocols
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure charge capture accuracy
- Generate monthly reports on key revenue cycle metrics
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a clinical or hospital setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in Epic or NextGen EHR systems
- Expert knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and commercial payer policies
- Strong analytical skills for identifying billing discrepancies
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Ability to manage high-volume workloads with competing priorities
