Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Maintain precise medication inventory management and ordering systems
- Process insurance claims and manage third-party billing documentation
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Ensure strict compliance with DEA, HIPAA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell) for order processing
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy dispensing software and inventory systems
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, team-oriented environment
- CPR certification preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills highly desirable
