Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection following strict protocols
- Ensure proper patient identification and specimen labeling to maintain compliance with CLIA standards
- Process and transport specimens efficiently to the laboratory for analysis
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the phlebotomy station
- Provide exceptional patient care with empathy and clear communication
- Utilize EHR systems for documentation and order management
- Collaborate with nursing staff and lab personnel to resolve collection issues
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Valid CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Proficiency in blood collection techniques for diverse patient populations
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare setting
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations
