Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields, instruments, and equipment
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Anticipate surgical needs and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
- Implement strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and equipment
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Train new staff on surgical protocols and equipment
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of scrub experience in general surgery
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI/ANSI)
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with laparoscopic and robotic surgical systems preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
