Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for all specialties
- Assist surgeons during procedures with proper instrument passing
- Maintain sterile environments per OSHA and AORN standards
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after procedures
- Operate sterilization equipment and maintain instrument inventory
- Collaborate with RNs and anesthesia teams for patient safety
- Document procedural activities in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Graduate of accredited surgical technology program
- Minimum 1-year OR experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing principles
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in electronic medical records
