Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid telephone and in-person patient assessments to determine acuity level and prioritize care
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient flow
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) with detailed documentation of assessments
- Provide clear, empathetic communication to patients and families regarding care plans
- Implement triage protocols aligned with ENA and CDC standards
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Mentor new staff on triage procedures and best practices
Qualifications
- Active RN license in California (CA RN)
- Minimum 3 years of emergency department or urgent care experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- BSN or higher degree preferred
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in Epic EHR systems
- Spanish bilingual certification highly desirable
- Strong ability to remain calm under pressure in fast-paced environments
