Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient symptoms via phone, email, or patient portal to determine appropriate level of care.
- Provide accurate medical advice and triage recommendations based on established clinical protocols.
- Document all patient interactions and triage decisions meticulously in the EMR system.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and specialists to facilitate referrals and follow-up care.
- Educate patients on symptom management, medication usage, and preventative health measures.
- Manage high call volumes efficiently while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
- Identify urgent medical needs and facilitate timely emergency interventions when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Valid and active Kansas RN (Registered Nurse) license.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with specific experience in triage or urgent care preferred.
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to make sound medical judgments under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EMR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
