Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze emerging technologies with transformative potential by 2026 (quantum computing, synthetic biology, neurotech)
- Develop multi-year strategic roadmaps integrating exponential technologies into core business operations
- Lead scenario planning for disruptive market shifts and regulatory impacts on tech adoption
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions and innovation labs to capture cutting-edge research
- Present foresight frameworks to executive leadership and board members quarterly
- Build and lead a dedicated futurist research team of 5-8 specialists
- Author annual 'State of the Future' reports influencing industry discourse
Qualifications
- 15+ years in strategic technology roles with demonstrable impact on future-oriented initiatives
- Advanced degree in technology, economics, futurism, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Deep expertise in exponential technologies (AI, quantum, biotech, nanotech)
- Proven track record of translating foresight into commercial innovation
- Exceptional communication skills for complex technical storytelling to diverse audiences
- Published thought leadership in futurism or technology strategy (books, journals, keynotes)
- Experience managing cross-functional innovation teams in Fortune 500 environments
