Responsibilities
- Prepare operatories for patient treatment, ensuring all instruments and materials are sterilized and organized.
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, providing chairside support efficiently.
- Take and develop dental X-rays and impressions as directed by the dentist.
- Guide patients through their treatment plans, answering questions and ensuring comfort.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories.
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and order necessary materials.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and OSHA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license required.
- Current Radiography certification (COR) is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting.
- Strong communication skills with patients and medical staff.
- CPR and First Aid certification (BLS) valid and up to date.
- Proficiency in dental software and practice management systems.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
