Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision using automated compounding systems
- Manage inventory control and ordering for controlled substances with 100% compliance
- Process insurance claims and patient assistance programs with 95%+ accuracy
- Provide exceptional patient consultations on medication usage and OTC products
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant electronic health records and documentation
- Train junior technicians on new pharmacy technologies and protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication regimens
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 3 years retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Expertise in inventory management and DEA compliance procedures
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (QS1, Omnicell, or similar)
- Strong mathematical aptitude for compounding and dosage calculations
- Exceptional communication skills for patient education
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Basic understanding of pharmacology and drug interactions
