Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort
- Process and label specimens accurately following HIPAA compliance protocols
- Maintain sterile equipment and calibrated phlebotomy tools
- Document patient data and test requisitions in EHR systems
- Train junior staff on advanced phlebotomy techniques
- Collaborate with physicians and lab teams for complex specimen handling
- Implement infection control protocols and safety procedures
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) with 3+ years clinical experience
- BLS/CPR certification and current CA phlebotomy license
- Expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult venipuncture
- Proficiency in LIS/EHR systems (Epic/EMR preferred)
- Exceptional communication and patient rapport skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Associate's degree in Medical Technology or equivalent
- Experience with point-of-care testing (POCT) devices
