Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment, arranging sterile supplies, and setting up surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, suturing, and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor patients' vital signs and document surgical observations accurately
- Manage sterilization processes and inventory of surgical supplies
- Collaborate with nurses and surgeons to optimize surgical workflow
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and JCAHO standards
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience in hospital settings
- Expertise in orthopedic, neuro, or cardiovascular procedures preferred
- BLS certification and current CPR training
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-stress environments
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional communication skills
