Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile equipment and supplies before surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile materials
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce safety protocols in all surgical settings
- Inventory and manage surgical equipment, ensuring optimal availability
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Document surgical cases accurately and maintain electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential required
- 2+ years of experience in Level 1 trauma or specialty surgical services
- BLS/CPR certification with current ACLS preferred
- Expertise in orthopedic, neuro, or cardiovascular surgical specialties
- Proven ability to maintain composure in high-pressure emergency situations
- Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques and OSHA compliance
- Exceptional hand-eye coordination and attention to microscopic detail
