The Role
As a Triage Nurse, you will be the first point of contact for patients seeking medical advice, ensuring rapid assessment and appropriate care pathways.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive initial patient assessments and triage based on acuity.
- Assess symptoms, allergies, and medical history to determine appropriate care levels.
- Facilitate communication between patients, physicians, and specialists.
- Document all interactions accurately in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Make appropriate referrals to urgent care, ER, or specialist appointments.
- Manage patient flow to maximize efficiency in our clinic.
Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience, preferably in triage or urgent care.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle high call volumes.
- Proficiency with EMR systems (EPIC, Cerner, or similar).
