Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments using SBAR methodology to determine acuity levels
- Manage high-volume emergency department communications via phone and telehealth platforms
- Collaborate with physicians to prioritize patient care based on clinical urgency
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EHR systems for compliance and continuity
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques for distressed patients/families
- Mentor junior staff and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Oversee triage protocols during mass casualty incidents
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Tennessee with minimum 3 years ER/trauma experience
- BSN or higher degree from accredited institution
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or Triage Certification required
- Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and pediatric advanced life support (PALS)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in electronic health records (Epic preferred)
- Demonstrated experience with high-stress, high-volume environments
