Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals and assist clients with feeding if necessary, adhering to dietary restrictions.
- Housekeeping: Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, vacuuming, and changing bed linens to ensure a safe and clean environment.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities to reduce loneliness.
- Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in a client's physical condition, behavior, or mood to the registered nurse or supervisor.
- Transportation: Drive clients to medical appointments or social activities using a personal vehicle.
- Medication: Remind clients to take their medication at the prescribed times.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Texas Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- License: Valid Driverβs License and proof of auto insurance required.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Physical: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform physical tasks associated with patient care.
- Personality: A genuine, patient, and empathetic nature is essential.
