Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take their prescribed medications on time and report any changes in health to the supervising nurse.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and personal preferences.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage in conversation to reduce feelings of isolation.
- Light Housekeeping: Perform light cleaning tasks such as laundry, vacuuming, and dishwashing to ensure a safe living environment.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature) as directed by the care plan.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments and errands when needed.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must possess a valid Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Louisiana.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health or long-term care is preferred but not always required for enthusiastic candidates.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods; physical stamina to assist patients with mobility.
- Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Valid Driver’s License: Reliable transportation is required.
