Responsibilities

  • Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure their comfort and hygiene.
  • Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications on time and report any missed doses or adverse reactions to the supervising nurse.
  • Companionship: Provide social interaction, conversation, and emotional support to reduce loneliness and improve the client's mental well-being.
  • Household Support: Assist with light meal preparation, laundry, and light housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean living environment.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Observe client behavior and report any changes in health, mood, or physical condition to the care coordinator immediately.
  • Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or community outings as needed.
  • Emergency Response: Follow safety protocols and respond appropriately to emergency situations.

Qualifications

  • Certification: Must possess a current Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification valid in the state of Louisiana.
  • Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for home visits.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and families.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods; ability to assist clients with mobility (up to 50 lbs).
