Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist clients with mobility issues, including transferring in and out of bed or wheelchairs.
- Monitor patient health status, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising nurse immediately.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding according to dietary restrictions.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and social activities.
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry services to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
- Document daily care activities and progress in the electronic health record system accurately.
Qualifications
- Current Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Virginia required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with a patient and empathetic demeanor.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks (lifting, bending, reaching).
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.
- Pass a background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.
