Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance including bathing, dressing, and grooming to ensure patient hygiene and dignity.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as toileting, transferring, and eating.
- Monitor patient health status, including vital signs and symptoms, and report any changes to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider immediately.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families to reduce feelings of isolation.
- Assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and laundry to maintain a safe and clean living environment.
- Transport patients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or community activities.
- Administer prescribed medications as directed and document all care provided accurately in electronic health records.
Qualifications
- Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) license required by the State of California.
- Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, empathetic demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a home setting.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients with mobility.
- Pass a comprehensive criminal background check, drug screening, and health assessment.
