Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Companionship & Engagement: Provide emotional support and engage clients in meaningful conversations, hobbies, and recreational activities to improve their quality of life.
- Mobility Support: Help clients move safely in and out of bed, assist with walking, and operate wheelchairs or walkers if necessary.
- Meal Management: Plan and prepare nutritious, appetizing meals according to specific dietary restrictions and doctor's orders.
- Clinical Monitoring: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and document vital signs and daily progress accurately.
- Home Maintenance: Perform light housekeeping tasks, including laundry and cleaning, to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Critical Reporting: Communicate any changes in a patient's condition to the Registered Nurse or Case Manager immediately.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
- Licensure: Must possess a current, active license and a valid driver's license (for client transport if applicable).
- Background Check: Ability to pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health or geriatric care is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, patience, compassion, and a genuine passion for helping the elderly and disabled.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, trustworthy, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
