Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Monitoring: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and report any changes in health or behavior to the supervising nurse.
- Companionship: Provide friendly conversation, read to patients, and engage in recreational activities to combat loneliness.
- Light Housekeeping: Perform light cleaning duties, laundry, and meal preparation to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Vital Signs: Measure and record vital signs such as weight, temperature, and blood pressure as directed by the case manager.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments and errands as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Previous experience as a CNA, HHA, or in a similar caregiving role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Licensure: Valid Kansas CNA license preferred; must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills and a genuine desire to help others.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods; ability to assist with transfers (Hoyer lift experience a plus).
