Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers (Medicare/Medicaid)
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits before service rendering
- Resolve claim denials and rejections through appeals and follow-ups
- Perform accurate coding using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Conduct regular account reconciliations and AR aging reports
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation compliance
- Maintain strict HIPAA confidentiality standards
- Utilize Epic EHR and NextGen practice management systems
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient/ambulatory settings
- Expertise in CPT/HCPCS coding and ICD-10 diagnostic coding
- Strong knowledge of CMS guidelines and commercial payer policies
- Proficient in medical billing software (Epic, NextGen, or similar)
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Proven track record in denial management and appeals
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
