Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations with precise instrument handling
- Maintain strict aseptic protocols in OR environments
- Manage inventory and sterilization of surgical equipment
- Document procedural data accurately in electronic health records
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience in Level 1 trauma center
- BLS/CPR certification with current ACLS preferred
- Expertise in orthopedic, general, and neurosurgical procedures
- Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA compliance
- Ability to adapt quickly to high-pressure emergency situations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Valid New York State surgical tech license
