Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including implant placements and orthodontic adjustments
- Manage digital imaging systems (CBCT, intraoral cameras) and maintain accurate patient records
- Oversee sterilization protocols and infection control procedures exceeding OSHA standards
- Train and mentor new dental assistants on practice-specific workflows and technologies
- Coordinate patient flow and optimize clinical efficiency across multiple operatories
- Implement inventory management systems for dental supplies and equipment
- Assist in developing treatment plans and explaining procedures to patients
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) required
- Minimum 3 years experience in general or specialty dental practice
- Advanced proficiency in digital radiography and practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification and current HIPAA compliance training
- Proven ability to manage high-volume patient schedules efficiently
- Experience with expanded functions (coronal polishing, sealant placement)
- Strong leadership skills with prior mentorship responsibilities
- Exceptional communication and patient education abilities
