Responsibilities
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently while maintaining strict compliance with state and federal regulations
- Lead pharmacy inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and conducting cycle counts
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on standard procedures and best practices
- Process insurance claims and manage third-party billing systems
- Assist with compounding sterile and non-sterile preparations under pharmacist supervision
- Implement and maintain HIPAA compliance protocols for patient data
- Collaborate with pharmacists to optimize workflow and enhance patient experiences
Qualifications
- Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 3 years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proven leadership ability with team training or supervisory experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1)
- Strong knowledge of prescription processing and insurance verification
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume environments
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed
- Compounding certification (ASCP) preferred
