Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and controlled substance tracking
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV medications and chemotherapy
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on protocols and best practices
- Coordinate with nursing staff to ensure timely medication administration
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1) for inventory and dispensing
- Ensure compliance with TSBP and HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- Current Tennessee Pharmacy Technician license required
- Minimum 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding and IV admixture
- Experience with automated dispensing systems and inventory management
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Basic computer proficiency with pharmacy software
