Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify prescriptions with pharmacists
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and rotation of pharmaceuticals
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV preparations and specialty medications
- Utilize pharmacy software for prescription processing, insurance claims, and record-keeping
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on protocols and best practices
- Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy
Qualifications
- Active Kansas Pharmacy Technician license required
- CPhT certification (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred
- Minimum 2 years retail pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy law, HIPAA, and sterile compounding
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Excellent communication skills with ability to educate diverse patients
- Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy in medication handling
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
