Responsibilities
- Accurately compound, dispense, and verify prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control systems including ordering, receiving, and auditing controlled substances
- Train and mentor junior technicians on sterile compounding protocols and HIPAA compliance
- Process insurance claims and resolve billing discrepancies with third-party payers
- Maintain electronic health records with 99.8% accuracy in medication dispensing documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy management
- Ensure strict adherence to FDA and Texas State Board of Pharmacy regulations
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license with minimum 3 years experience
- CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification required
- Proven expertise in sterile compounding (IV/chemotherapy) and USP 797 compliance
- Advanced proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Exceptional attention to detail with documented zero medication error history
- Strong leadership abilities with experience training new technicians
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure clinical environments
- Associate's degree in Pharmacy Technology or related field preferred
