Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and compound medications following state and federal regulations
- Verify prescription orders and consult with pharmacists on clinical decisions
- Manage inventory control and medication ordering systems
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV preparations
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1) for inventory and order processing
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license
- 1+ years of hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding techniques
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
- Proficient with pharmacy management software
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs
- Background clearance and immunization compliance
